Still got it: Thierry Henry scored a stunning bicycle kick for the New York Red Bulls against Montreal in the MLS
The delivery was headed on by defender Markus Holgersson towards the back post where Henry twisted and acrobatically sent the ball back across goal and into the far top right corner.
He had already scored the opener, but the second goal proved crucial when Montreal Impact pulled one back in injury time.
The former Arsenal striker nonchalantly played down the goal, but as if to affirm his genius explained he knew that one goal would not be enough to win the match.
Henry said: “[The kind of goal] is not the most important thing to me. What I knew we had to do was score a second goal because we didn’t look like we could keep a 1-0 advantage.
‘That’s why for me that goal is important because it was an important goal, after all, not how I scored it. I’ll go back home thinking how we can play better until the end.’
