When getting invited for a job interview, keep in mind that you probably aren’t the only person getting interviewed, which is why it’s crucial that you put your best foot forward and show the employer that you are the only person for the job.
Being qualified counts in your favour. This obviously goes without saying, but there are few people who adhere to it. Don’t apply for senior job if you’re a junior, for example. You’ll be greatly disappointed and might become despondent during your job
search. Apply for positions that match your qualifications and your skill set. This will decrease your chances of getting rejected for a job that you might have had your heart
You’re a fast learner. Hiring managers love fast, eager learners. In the interview, try to demonstrate to the interviewer that you are a fast learner by providing them with a situation that needed you to adapt quickly.

Did you have to tackle a topic that you were unfamiliar with and made a success of it?
What did you do in the past that will strengthen your chances being the successful candidate?
A leader will get noticed faster. Your job title isn’t the only thing that can identify you as a leader. You have to be able to show the interviewer how you can contribute to the company’s success. This is best done by preparing an answer that shows you’ve used your initiative in the past or you’ve lead your team to a successful result.
Ideally, the interviewer would like to hire a candidate who shows that he or she can make a meaningful contribution to the company. It’ll work in your favour if you can demonstrate that you can.
You have no problem with embracing new ideas and systems. In an ever-changing world, where technology is always being upgraded and new systems are being implemented, how do you adapt? Do you welcome the change for the better or do you question things in a negative manner? Interviewers want to see that you can adapt to various situations comfortably and that you’re always willing to learn more.
You’re not just another seat-filler. If you’re passionate about what you do and want to join the company, make sure the interviewer sees that. Enthusiasm and passion goes a long way – especially in a job interview. Show the interviewer that you want to grow with the company and you’re there to learn and contribute – not just to take up space in the office and get your pay check.
Top tip! Before attending any job interview, make sure you read and understand the job specs. Think of how your job skills and experience could relate to what is being asked. If you can demonstrate to the interviewer that you meet all the requirements of the job spec, and can largely contribute to the company, you have a better chance of getting
